APPROACH TO THERAPY
I apply a blend of empirically supported techniques to help the individuals I work with overcome problems and pain in their lives. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is the primary influence on the way I think as a therapist, but I've also recieved training in, and am influenced by acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and interpersonal therapy. Depending on clients' needs and preferences, I draw on techniques and perspectives from all these approaches.  My therapy sessions are a collaborative effort where I and the client try to change the client's thoughts, behavior, or interpersonal approach to relationships, in order to feel better and engage with life more effectively.

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."
